Journal Entry 5

    As time flies, it is almost the end of the semester thus we are getting near to wrap up this course as a whole. In my opinion, I think learning Critical Literacy has its good and bad moments. I knew this course is going to be difficult for me to handle so ever since the beginning of this class, I decided to always keep my focus during this class so I would not miss any single important details that I need. This course has taught me so much especially in analyzing articles to get information I wanted.

Moreover, Critical Literacy is actually quite a fun course for me to learn. This is because it gets exciting if I can work on with articles that I found interesting. If there is any topic that caught my interest, usually I would not mind spending my time to finish the given homework. For me, anything can be interesting once people try to understand the context of the article. It helps me expand my knowledge and let me learn many other beneficial information through the process of working. Furthermore, it also sharpen my thinking skills especially when searching for facts and opinions online to support my premises hence the title and objective of this course which is training students with critical thinking and writing. 

Thus, Critical Literacy is not only helping me to improve my skills for academic purposes, but also to prepare me to understand life in many perspectives rationally before making any decisions.

Through early stages of the pandemic, Malaysia had successfully restrained the people from going out and roaming in public places to avoid the virus to spread. As a result, the number of cases did not increase to a critical level where netizens were allowed to go out again to work and continue our daily life as normal. Journal Entry 4

     During recent times, working life in most households has been severely changed due to the long-term pandemic. Many adults are unable to go to their office or workplaces unlike their usual routine anymore. As everyone knows, men, or husbands are typical to represent as someone who goes to work to financially support the family, meanwhile women, or wives play roles at home and babysit the children. Logically, men will be thought to do less works at home because they have spent their time and energy during their absence from home. Nonetheless, after pandemic locked the entire population from going outside, men are finally obligated to only stay indoors and practice work-from-home tasks. Journal Entry 1

Critical Literacy is indeed a new subject for me to learn during this semester. To be honest, I am not close to any seniors during my time back in college so there are nobody who shares to me their comments or personal experiences regarding this course. Due to that, I do not know any information that might be beneficial for me to know it in advance before the class started. I really do not have any first impression upon this course but looking back at its name, I realised that it sounds a bit terrifying. Moving on, one of my expectations for this course is that I believe I am going to be exposed to dive deeper about literature works but twice harder than the previous literature course in the previous semester.
